I was born and raised in New Zealand. My mother loved to travel both within New Zealand and overseas. I believe I inherited her wanderlust spirit. After graduating High School I entered Nursing School. I graduated in 1977. My nursing degree opened up the opportunity to travel overseas. I applied in 1978 to work a one year contract in Lubbock, Texas. Little did I know at the time that Lubbock would be my home for much of the next 40 years.
I met my husband Steve at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock. We became engaged in October 1979. We were married in New Zealand in my home town of Tauranga on July 26th 1980. After a year in New Zealand we returned to Texas.
Marriage, two children and busy careers dominated the next 40 years. We still took time to travel when we could afford to. Our children have been to visit New Zealand and learn about their heritage there. We have encouraged them to see the world.
Now the children are grown we are ready for a little adventure of our own.
We hope you will join us as we begin our retirement bucket list with our move to Mexico.
Your comments and encouragement are appreciated. I hope that my blogs will inspire you to take a risk and step outside the box.
